The Albino Flavescent Peacock Cichlid is a vibrant freshwater cichlid distinguished by its bright yellow to golden coloration and complete absence of dark melanin pigmentation. Originating from the Peacock cichlid group of Aulonocara species from Lake Malawi, this morph displays a luminous body color ranging from soft lemon yellow to rich golden-orange, often accented by subtle iridescent blue, white, or metallic highlights depending on the strain and breeding lineage.

The body is laterally compressed with the streamlined, elegant profile typical of Peacock cichlids. Due to the albino gene, black pigmentation is absent, resulting in pink to ruby-red eyes and a clean, bright appearance. The flavescent trait intensifies the yellow pigmentation, producing a uniform golden coloration across the head, body, dorsal fin, anal fin, and caudal fin. Any barring or patterning normally present is greatly reduced or absent, giving the fish a smooth, uninterrupted color presentation.

Mature males develop the most intense coloration, displaying brilliant gold, yellow, and orange hues that become increasingly vivid with age and social dominance. Females are generally lighter and less intensely colored but retain the characteristic albino yellow appearance. Adult specimens typically reach 4–6 inches (10–15 cm) in length, depending on the specific lineage.

Under aquarium lighting, the Albino Flavescent Peacock exhibits a radiant, almost glowing appearance, with metallic reflections enhancing its golden tones. Its combination of red eyes, brilliant yellow coloration, and graceful Peacock cichlid form makes it one of the most sought-after albino morphs among African cichlid enthusiasts.
